British Council is very much aware of the growing demand for IELTS in Nepal
and we are constantly striving to meet this demand. We have increased the
number of exam sessions in 2016 to 43 as compared to 34 planned sessions in
2015. As planned we will be conducting exams in Biratnagar, Pokhara,
Chitwan and Bhairahawa besides Kathmandu. As we have increased the number
of exam sessions there are more exam dates for those cities other than
Kathmandu this year as compared to last year. To meet this higher demand we
have also managed to increase the number of available examiners and in the
near future we expect this number to grow further.



Taking into consideration the growing demand for General Training (GT)
Module IELTS in Nepal we have increased the number of GT seats for 2016
both in Kathmandu and outside Kathmandu. We will also be opening all unpaid
seats regularly after completion of the payment deadline so that seats are
available at regular intervals.



*British Council would like to announce that the IELTS dates for April 2016
will start to open on 9 March 11 am onwards. In the interest of making the
seats available more frequently we are opening the seats on a weekly basis;
we will open seats for one test date in one week from March 2016 to May
2016 and unpaid seats will be opened after completion of the payment
deadline. The price for IELTS is NPR 16, 950 for the test booked from April
2016 onwards. The payment deadline is 6 working days or the registration
closure date (12 days before the exam date) whichever is earliest. We have
attached the calendar with the payment deadline for your reference.*
